Suffering Child

There has been situations in my life where I had to choose whether to walk away or stay. Both of them had to do with someone being bullied. When I was in sixth grade one of my friends got pushed down by some eighth graders. I had to choose whether to step in or not. If I stepped in I knew I would get railed by these older kids. In the end I chose to walk away and let it blow over. I still feel guilty for leaving my friend but I did not feel like getting hurt that day. The other situation was when I was in eighth grade I saw some elementary kids getting pushed around by some kids in my grade. At my old school I was the tallest kid by far so I chose to step in and I was very successful. It felt a lot better to stand up for something rather than walk away.

  1. Hey Jack, it's great to see that you too had had your integrity questioned when it came to bullying. I had that issue as well when I was little and I appreciate that you were honest and said that you were not always the "nice guy" in your situations involving bullying. Just never lose your hold on your integrity even if people say it is wrong and I look forward to to your future blogs.
